The Problem:

StartUp PLH, a website for the City of Philadelphia to help start-up companies have a main resource for information on how to apply for grants and business licenses

The Challenge

While at Lyquix, my job was to come up with a UI/UX design solution for StartUp PHL that would focus on a younger demographic while ensuring the website was user-friendly and easier to use than the previous model with its largely gray color pallet.

The Solution:

The solution I came up with was focused on creating larger images and an easier UI to help users find information without being overwhelmed by implementing an accordion menu on some pages. Icons were created to help make navigating the home page easier as well. Switching to a predominantly orange theme made the design more energetic and engaging.

In researching this, I found that implementing a sidebar on the site made it easier to find a large amount of the information that was on the website.

The Results:

The StartUp PHL site saw increased traffic and interest.
